My Scheming+ gel eye mask haul (chinatown nyc)

Its finals week and I'm always free after 12 so I decided to go with some friends to chinatown to eat and shop. We went to a 2 beauty shops there and I couldn't resist not buying something.

Cotton Sheet masks?
Cotton sheet masks are masks that are not in the usual cream or gel form that you apply to you're face and wash off or leave in. A cotton mask comes in packs sealed so the mask does not dry up. The mask itself is made of cotton fibers hence the name "cotton sheet mask" they fit to lay on your face with cutouts for the eyes and mouth (GHOST!!) So how are you suppose to benefit from this? How does cotton on my face help me? Well in the sealed pack there is also essence or clear liquidy stuff that is absorbed by the cotton mask then layed upon your face for your face to absorb alll the goodies. (Remember: when you take off a cotton sheet mask DO NOT WIPE OFF THE ESSENCE!!! Instead pat it into you're skin like a serum) How do sheet masks work then? They are generally different from the results of cream masks in that although they come in a variety for different types of skins the effects may last about 3-4 days in terms of brightening or it can be just a nice once a week treatment for your skin. I usually don't use sheet masks so often, only on the day or the day before a special event or outing. (Ex. Wedddings)

Gel masks?
Gel masks are similar to cotton sheet masks in that they lay on the face and come in packs. Gel masks do not have essence because all the goodies are in the solidified gel that lays on your face. The gel mask usually has film or cotton on one side and gel on the other, obviously you would put the gel side on your skin. (sounds stupid... but i got the sides wrong until I punctured the gel and found out I used the wrong side -___-)

Daigar beauty (7 Elizabeth Street New York, NY 10013, bottom store)
- my scheming mask $13.99 for 10sheets
I've seen these masks while in chinatown but not completely fluent in reading chinese i assumed it was "my beauty diary" but I realized it wasnt. Recently i came upon a old sasa haul/ review from saaammage's blog about these masks which i found out was called "my scheming". The collection Daigar sells targets all skin types from dry to acne prone to wrinkles and collagen. (Reminder: my skin is acne prone, oily, and has many hyperpigmentation/scarring) So I was looking specifically for masks with brightening/ whitening effects that also target my acne problems. One i happen to come upon was the Bamboo charcoal cryste whitening double lifting mask and the Green tea and Barley whitening mask. Both of these masks target whitening and the green tea is great for acne. I find that these mask are very similar to the my beauty diary masks in terms on the cotton mask material... They are not cheap at all its actually very thick with alot of essence absorbed in it unlike cheaper masks that drip with essence when you take it out. (Future review coming very soon)

Penguin shop (40 Elizabeth & Canal, opposite street direction of Elizabeth center) inner most store- beauty store: cantonese and mandarin speaking)
-Rich Coenzymes10 gel eye mask ($12 for 5 packs)
After going to daigar I also went to the penguin shop to the beauty store they have there. The people and service there are great because they let you try everything out and they will help you if you need anything.(Got two bbcream samples to try for my dark skintone NC35-40 and she said that this brand is more natural looking so i guess the greyish pink cast wont show as much) I was looking for some good eye masks and I was stuck between the beauty diary ones and the rich coenzyme10 gel eye mask. I asked the lady there and she told me the rich co10 gel mask targets and helps with tightening and dark circles which was my main priority because my undereyes are exteremly dark and purple with visible blue veins. She also said with gel eye masks they can stay on for as long as 30minutes while cloth eye masks like the beauty diary could only stay on for 15 minutes max. It was $12 for 5 eye masks so it was affordable for my budget considering that i only use it about once a week.

That concludes my hauling ;P hope you enjoyed it

[REVIEW] Revlon Custom Eyes Palette (020 Naturally Glamourous)

020 Naturally Glamorous

Another Review Yeayyyy!!!!

Revlon Custom Eyes palette could be found in any drugstore, prices range from $6-8 depending on where you are. This came out less than a year ago? When I bought it, I didn't like it that much, but recently I've been using it more often because I grew to love super shimmery neutral shades especially frosty/ shimmery champagne colors to highlight the inner corner.  This palette is awesome for traveling and beginners in makeup because you can create a simple yet nice looking neutral eye in less than 5 minutes. (You can even use your fingers which is what I do most of the time anyways)<--- hint: future tutorial coming?

Top: w/o primer   Bottom: with primer

The colors in my opinion are gorgeous, my absolute favorite is the 2nd and 4th color which are metallic colors. My least favorite is the black because its not as pigmented as I would want it to but I still use it to smudge out my eyeliner on my lower lash line sometimes. All in all, awesome neutral palette for its price ;)

[REVIEW] Physicians Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum

Just as promised!! Review#1 coming at you ;) Have a wonderful Lunar New Year

I recently went to my local Duane Reade and found this in the physicians formula display and it had one of those manufacturer coupons that you feel off on the product and it was a save $3 coupon so from $10.45 it was now $7.45 so I thought it was a steal and had to get it!!! I've heard good and bad reviews on it and felt iffy about buying this all along but for $7.45 I couldn't pass on it so I decided to buy it.

Physicians Formula?
Physicians Formula is one of the more expensive brands in the drugstores where most of their makeup is natural and organic so that means free from talc, paraben and other harmful chemicals. Physicians Formula was all the hype when they came out with the set of three stackable gel eyeliners fit for your eye color.

First Impressions:
- hard to open pen eyeliner
- hard to close
- thin brush tip
- watery formula

TOP: thicker swatch with multiple layers  BOTTOM: thinner swatch with one layer, less opaque

LEFT: 2 layers of P.F.  RIGHT: 2 layers of L'oreal Lineur Intense Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner in Carbon Black
Pros:
- precise thin lines
- fast efficient application
- travel friendly
- tight closure so it wont dry out quickly

Cons:
- watery formula
- one layer is too sheer
- ultra black is not black enough
- dries to a sticky finish
- cannot reapply after dried or it will rub off
- tip of brush takes time to get more product have to continuously shake the pen.
- IRRITATED MY EYES

I am extremely unsatisfied with my purchase. It did not live up to my expectations and it wasn't as great as what other people said it was. Overall, an okay eyeliner with a good brush tip and precise lines. I used it for a few hours for the last two days and it started irritating my eyes after I took it off. My eyes have been red and itchy ever since. I've heard people say it irritated their eyes so I guess its true then.... I will be returning this for a refund as soon as possible.
